Report reaching Loadedtips make it clear that the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and some prominent people in the party has been arrested view hours to the governorship election.
The arrest was, according to report, carried out by the armed and masked security look alike group suspected to be opposition party's thugs.
According to report by citizens in Osun state, sporadic shooting was heard, striking terror into neighborhoods.
Alhaji Lai Mohamed personal assistant, Mr Williams Adeleye, testified to the arrest of his boss by telling reporters that an interrupted voice suddenly sound when he was on the phone call with his principal saying: "you are under arrest, enter this vehicle".
Other leaders of the party including the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr.Wale Adedoyin and the Chairman of Osogbo Local Government were also abducted by the group.
State Secretary of APC, Prince Gboyega Famoodun were also invaded at midnight by armed group.
State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Sikiru Adetona Ayedun; the House of Assembly member representing Obokun, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Isiaka Faramade; Ilesa State Constituencies, Hon. Femi Fafiyebi; as well as Folarin Fafowora.
Report also reveal that 30 students were also invaded in the move.
The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osogbo was also burgled yesterday by unknown people.
However, APC has strongly condemn this attitude saying the act could only give the PDP more space to failure.
APC spokesman, Kunle Oyatomi said:
"It is a shame this is happening. This is democracy and our people are resolute on electing the leader they can trust,"
Meanwhile, as at the time of publishing this news, no reeason has been given for the arrest of these people.
The police spokesperson in Osun State, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, denied knowledge of the arrests.
Meanwhile, report revealed that PDP leaders at their late night meeting yesterday in Ile-Ife resolved that no APC leader in Ife should be allowed out of his house during today’s election.
